Mighty Corp. Increases Purchase of Tobacco from Local Farmers

As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility thrust, Mighty Corp. is willing to substantially increase their tobacco purchase from tobacco farmers nationwide.

This is in line with the company's recent expansion due to the implementation of  Republic Act 10351 or the Sin Tax Reform Law, allowing Mighty to compete in the tobacco industry on equal ground.

Mighty already submitted a Letter of Intent to the National Tobacco Administration for their plans to increase their tobacco purchase.

This move will assure local farmers that their crops will have its place in the local market while also helping Mighty effectively compete in the tobacco industry.

Mighty Corp. Receives Outstanding Corporation Award in National Management Congress

Mighty Corp. celebrates this year's National Management Congress with an Outstanding Corporation Award.

Philcoman Research Institute (PCMRI) will be hosting this year's National Management Congress in simple ceremonies, allocating the funds that will be saved to further research on more important issues.

“We opted to hold a simple rite so that funds and other resources we can save can be channeled to research and further studies of important issues in politics, economics, sociology and national security," spokesperson of PCMRI said.

The PCMRI will honor the recepients of Outstanding Corporation of the year Award and the Outstanding Management Leadership Award of the year. They will also witness the oath-taking of its newest members.

Mighty Corp. Urges Use of Organic Pesticides as part of CSR

Mighty Corp. expands their CSR projects yet again.

As part of their movement to aid local tobacco farmers in their livelihood, Mighty urges these farmers to shift to the use of organic pesticides instead on relying on chemical-based pesticides.

These will not only help decrease the pollution in the environment, but will also help local farmers increase their income.

According to records Mighty have, more and more farmers are starting to use organic pesticides rather than being relying on their current pesticides.

Mighty Corp., the National Tobacco Administration (NTA), Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna (UPLB), are in efforts to support this cause.

According to Mighty Corp. the company's market share has significantly increased in th last years and, as a way to give back, Mighty will continually support livelihood programs for the local tobacco farmers.

As a way of giving back, the company purchased  low-grade tobacco leaves from local farmers at very decent prices. They are also plan to expand their Corporates Social Responsibility projects to help increase the production and income of local farmers.

Mighty Corp. has been recognized for helping the church spread faith and prioritizing apostolic works and educational programs as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

“The parents of these students are low-income farmers producing only for local consumption,” the bishop said. “So you can imagine the positive impact this kind of support has for them.” according to the bishop who commended Mighty Corp.

He also commended the company's continuous support for the local farmers.

“I’m quite happy about all these projects. It’s a big lift for our farmers, not only in La Union but also the whole of Northern Luzon,” He said. “This is something very beautiful as the hand tractors and water pumps encourage our farmers to use modern methods of agriculture.”

Mighty Corp. is set to receive an award in this year's 40th National Management Congress.

The Philcoman Research Institute (PCMRI) will be awarding Mighty Corp. the Outstanding Corporation of the Year Award in this year's National Management Congress along with the recipients of  recipients of the Outstanding Management Leadership Award of the year, and the oath-taking of new members.

According to the chairman of PCMRI, this year's National Management Congress will feature a simple ceremony. The funds that will be saved will be allocated to for the continuous research of more important issues.

“Now that we are assured of an alternative market, besides other tobacco companies, our members will again be inspired to devote larger areas to the cultivation of Ilocandia’s most important cash crop,” he said.
